Northend United 1 Annagh United 6 Saturday 29th October 2016
This game was spoilt in the first seven minutes when the referee decided to send off Jamie Montgomery for deliberate hand ball which resulted in a penalty for Annagh. Northend had to dig deep and did well with Pearce Estler making some outstanding tackles. Annagh took advantage of their extra man and scored 3 goals in quick succession. Half time 0-4
Northend started the second half the strongest with some powerful runs by Conor McAuley and Adam Campbell especially. McAuley found Ciaran Martin with a delightful pass and he chipped the ball over the Annagh defence onto Adam Campbell who drove into the box and was upended resulting in a penalty. Adam Campbell dusted himself down and took the penalty to score for the Blues . However with a numerical disadvantage for most of the match, the Blues ran out of energy towards the end of the game and Annagh ran in two late goals. Full time 1-6

Northend United 0 Blackstaff 6 Saturday 22nd October 2016
Blackstaff started the strongest in this contest, coming close but Man of the match David Gregg kept them at bay. However a defensive error 15 minutes into the match cost Northend their first goal and it wasn't too long before they were 2 down. Some exellent play between Lewis Steele and Adam Campbell should have resulted in the deficit being reduced however Campbell's shot went wide . Blackstaff kept pressing and added their 3rd after the midfield failed to clear. Jamie Montgomery however was outstanding in defence again making some great takes. However Blackstaff kept on pressing and were rewarded with their fourth just before half time. Half time 0-4
A reorganisation at half time led to Northend starting the second half on the front foot and should have had three goals in quick succession through Adam Campbell, Jamie Montgomery and Ciaran Martin. However, all three chances were well saved by the Blackstaff keeper.
As play flowed from end to end, Blackstaff scored two goals in the last five minutes of the match, to take the shine off a good 2nd half performance. Full time 0-6

Loughgall 4 Northend United 3 Saturday 15th October 2016
Northend started the game vert quickly with the inform Adam Campbell coming close just after 5 minutes . The lads were playing some good football in atrocious conditions and it wasn't too long before Lewis Steele outpaced the Loughgall defence to open the scoring. Great defending and awareness from Man of the match Conor McAuley saw Northend adding their second when Campbell latched on to McAuley's pass .
Northend were living dangerous though and relied on David Gregg in goals who had another outstanding day along with Jamie Montgomery and Ryan McQuillan, however Loughgall scored to make it 2.1 . Northend kept the ball moving with Ciaran Martin and Jamie Montgomery linking well on the right .
Another through ball by Ryan McQuillan found Campbell again and he made no mistake Half time 1- 3
The rain kept coming though but Northend should have put the game out of sight but Campbell and Martin's shots went agonisly wide . Northend kept going and tremendous play between Jamie Montgomery and Dylan King should have ended in another goal but it too went wide . This led to Loughgall going up the pitch and scoring their second . Northend started to run out of energy and it wasn't too long before Loughgall equalised when the Northend defence failed to clear a corner when the ball got stuck in the water that was lying in the penalty area. Northend kept going though with Conor McAuley and Jude Casey playing the ball well .With two minutes remaining Loughgall took the lead with a goal that should not have stood as the striker was well off side Final score 4-3
This was a very good game of football and the Northend lads should be proud of themselves, what a difference a month makes!

Abbey Villa 9 Northend United 8 NIBFA Cup Saturday 8th October 2016
The Blues never settled in this game and were put under pressure right away by this strong Abbey Villa side. Some very poor defending gave the hosts a 3 goal lead within the first 20 minutes. However Northend started to play a bit of football and Ciaran Martin should have scored after some good work from Connor McAuley it wasn't long before the inform Adam Campbell got on the score sheet . This seemed to spur on the Villa and they scored another 2 goals . Northend kept going though and it was Martin who latched on to a Campbell free kick . Campbell scored again after a through ball by Lewis Steele. Abbey Villa scored their 7th just on half time. Half time 7-3
Some major position changes were made at half time and the lads went for it with Jamie Montgomery playing some outstanding football. Lewis Steele was in great form taking on the defence and was rewarded with his first goal for the club . Jamie Morrow Ryan McQuillan and Connor McCaully were steady in defence and David Gregg outstanding in goals. The lads started to believe that they could get a result when Campbell scored his hat-trick.
Montgomery picked up the ball in midfield beat 4 players and slammed the ball into the bottom corner of the net Steele drew the match level with 15 minutes to go . Then Campbell added his 4th goal .
Martin and Campbell came close again but unfortunately Villa equalised shortly afterwards and then scored the winner with the last kick of the game Full time 9-8
This was an outstanding performance by the Northend lads they never gave up

Hillsborough Boys 6 Northend United 1 Saturday 1st October 2016
The Blues never got out of first gear in the opening half of this match and found themselves four goals down at half time. It wasn't all one-way traffic as Conor McAuley and Adam Campbell combined to give Campbell a goalscoring opportunity but his shot just shaved the post. Half time 4-0
Into the second half and with the Blues playing with the slope it was a much improved performance. Jamie Montgomery was having a good match at the heart of the Northend defence but could do nothing midway through the half when Hillsborough scored from a tight angle. The Blues kept pressing after this and following another good pass from Conor McAuley, Adam Campbell was able to run at the Hillsborough defence and chip the ball over the advancing Hillsborough keeper.
However the Lisburn side had the last say in the match when they scored their sixth goal minutes before the end, when their striker beat David Gregg in the Blues goal. Full time 6-1

Hillsborough Boys 6 Northend United 0 Saturday 24th September 2016
Northend were very slow in starting this game and Hillsborough could have opened the scoring within the first 5 minutes but some strong defending from Jamie Montgomery and Callum Higgins kept them out. Northend struggled to get into their rhythm but kept their position in midfield with Jamie Morrow, Ciaran Martin and Dylan King playing the ball well but just couldn't find the final pass.
Jamie Montgomery again was at hand with some great defending. It was only a matter of time before Hillsborough scored and that came after 15 minutes after Northend failed to clear their lines. However, the lads kept their shape well and David Gregg in goal was kept busy. Half time 1-0
The Blues started the second half well when Adam Campbell came close to scoring after five minutes but some slack defending resulted in Hillsborough's second goal. This seemed to knock the wind out of the lads and in a disastrous fifteen-minute spell, they conceded three further goals. However, the Blues never gave up and in the last 5 minutes they seemed to rally and played some good football. In a cruel blow, Hillsborough made it six with almost the last kick of the ball.

Northend United 7 Lisburn Ladies 3 Saturday 17th September 2016
Northend were slow to start this game against a very well organised ladies team. Some slack defending by Northend was punished by Lisburn and they went 1 up in the first 5 minutes. This seemed to spur the lads on and Adam Campbell came close after a strong run through the middle of the park.
Jamie Morrow equalised with a fine strike inside the box it wasn't long before the lads were in front when a Adam Campbell shot was spilled by the Lisburn keeper and Connor McGaughey was on hand to tap it in. .David Gregg in the Northend goal was in tremendous form again along with Pearce Estler and Connor McAuley in defence to keep the ladies at bay
Adam Campbell finally got on the score sheet after a great forward run and slotted the ball into the corner of the net.
Again it was Esler who was breaking up the Ladies attack when he found Ryan McQuillan on the left and his long range shot ended up in the net . Half time 3-1
Into the second half, the Northend lads were still looking for more goals and Ciaran Martin was fouled just outside the box the Lisburn keeper spilled the shot again and it was Adam Campbell on hand to score his second
It wasn't long before the inform Campbell got his hatrick after some fine work by Dylan King and McAuley. The lads weren't finished yet and made it 7 when Jamie Montgomery latched on to a Jamie Morrow pass to slip the ball past the Lisburn goalkeeper.
Lisburn still was dangerous and scored 2 goals in the last 5 minutes including an unstoppable shot from outside the 18 yard box which gave David Gregg no chance in the Blues nets.
This was a much improved team performance and the lads are starting to play better footballand gel as a team. Full time 7-3

Camlough Rovers 6 Northend United 0 Saturday 10th September 2016
This was only the second game of the season for the U14s. Northend started well with the midfield linking well with the lone striker Adam Campbell.
Calum Higgins and Ryan McQuillan were solid in defence and had to be on there toes when the Camlough front line had the ball .David Gregg was outstanding in goal making some terrific saves. But with 10 minutes to go in the first half Camlough open the scoring when Northend failed to clear a cross . Another slack pass was picked up by Camlough and the striker gave Gregg no chance with a well hit shot right on stroke of half time. Half time 2-0
Northend didn't give up and Jamie Montgomery and Ciaran Martin linked well to set Adam Campbell through on goal but unfortunately his strike went wide .The strong running Jamie Morrow had to come off due to an injury and this led to a goal rout from Camlough scoring 3 in 10 minutes. This was a much improved performance from last week as the lads were unlucky with some decisions. Final score 6-0
